Have I had a sex change?

So we've been gone a while...but frankly when you throw yourself to the dogs by moving to london to sell your soul for placements updating your blog is definitely not top of the list.
We've been here just over four months, and have been working on a completely new book after our second placement at JWT.
Our experiences at book crits have ranged from the positive to the absolute ridiculous. A personal highlight was being called Rob twice during one crit with an infamously harsh CD. Perhaps its not so bad to be called the wrong name, but for your gender to be completely mistaken is quite worrying!
On the plus side, we have a beautiful new website: ideabrains.co.uk - come and check us out. We're also aiming to write more and get this blog up and running a bit better.
Its on our to do list, right under getting a job, conserving energy to prevent starvation from a credit crunch diet of pasta and baked beans and of course inventing ingenious methods of keeping warm as we cant afford to put the heating on. Living the dream!

The secret dream of cows

It is slightly strange to consider that a cow has a conscious thought other than where the next juicy patch of grass is coming from.
But VCCP have either found out a secret, or more likely made it up. Not only a conscious thought, but a longing, an urge deep in Mary the cow’s soul that wishes…wait for it…that she were a horse.
After this surprising revelation, we are treated to a slow motion image of Mary, galumphing, for want of a better word, along the shoreline. To top this, a soothing voice spurs daisy on whilst background music plays that hasn’t been heard since the early eighties.
As a new agency pitching to Muller they certainly had to put a different stamp on the brand. You’ve got to hand it to them; they’ve done just that. It’s a definite character change from cute kids munching yogurts on grassy hillsides. A slightly bizarre, but welcome one at that.
To end Mary’s dream day a mysterious woman comes into shot eating a Fruit Corner yogurt (no doubt a client intervention.) So doing, she gazes at the cow turned horse with a love rivalled only by a mother doting on her new born child. Finally, as Mary the cow gallops into the distance, the woman’s feelings are feelings summed up brilliantly by the end line ‘thank you cows, thank you.’
And thank you, VCCP for bringing something so strange and beautiful to our TVs.

hello hello and welcome

We'd always thought blogs were, not to put to fine a point on it, a bit of an ego trip.
'Oh hello world! Read our clever and witty thoughts! They are sure to be so great you'll wish you thought them yourself!'
Well, no. That is not what this is.
This is a space for us to show off our work, and have the occasional ramble about advertising or anything else that takes our fancy.
And so the blog beginnith...written by team Ruby and Daryll for your viewing pleasure.
Settle down for story time chums.
